Last week, there was a $140-145 500 GB Seagate at the egg (but it was SATA 3.0 GB/s) and some time last year (November?) you could get a 400 GB for around $100 (I think also SATA) at frys.com.

This in-store offer is also available online.

All PATA drives should have the normal molex power connector. I've never seen an example to the contrary.

I would say this deal is warm overall (but maybe hot if the $100 deal never included PATA drives), but it's the lowest price I've seen for a couple months.

One consideration in getting the 400 GB is that my enclosure only allows a maximum hard drive size of 400 GB.

Besides, the $140 500 GB Seagate deal is dead and as for the $130 one, where's that deal and is it still active? I think there was a Maxtor drive at that price awhile back, but did it have the 3 or 5-year warranty?
