Have been monitoring the DELL refurb website the past couple weeks.
Late last week they posted a computer for
$309 and I snagged it.
Since it's for the kids I figured, what the heck.
Still has the Dell 3 year warranty and you get the 15"
monitor (through 1/18/2001 with the optiplex models).

(not a screamer but good enough for their school work)
You have to check the Dell website through out the day, as new pc's are posted all the time and inventory changes
constantly.
(Several times I've looked first thing in the AM and found
like 30 pages of listings. By the PM it's down to
like 4 pages.)
