these are pretty good little drives... you get a nice bump in start up and still have lots of space... what they don't do is make the laptop more rugged - they still crash when banged around too much (especially when running)... they're a nice middle ground for a htpc that gets used for other stuff, too...

At roughly $30 more than the cost of a regular 1TB drive, this is a meh deal for those who have a mobo that supports Intel SRT. You'd be better off getting a 1TB HDD for $50-60 and spending the extra $$$ on a 32 or 64GB SSD for SRT.

If this was a 2.5" drive, it would be a whole different story, and it would make it a smoking hot deal.

I just picked up a 2.5" version of this a few weeks ago for $94 shipped.

For a desktop version -- I agree with the above poster, you have better and cheaper options.

I used one of these for a cheap AMD Richland build I did for my mom recently. It was on sale for $79 at the time, which made it worth it. Nice drive that does a decent job mimicking SSD speeds on boot.
