Yes, this is true, but the staples native resolution is 1024x768. Thats just too big for a 17. Any reviews of either the staples one or this?
 
Quasmo's link is to a thread about an Envision 19" LCD that's on clearance at Staples stores for $399. Good deal also.
 
This Envision is a good deal. It's a Chi Mei from Taiwan (2nd biggest panel maker) rebranded as a no-name under Etronix. Aside from the lack of DVI, the specs are very strong:

Specs. Only difference is that the documentation claims 23ms response time instead of 16ms.
