saw this on their weekly specials:

http://products.onvia.com/gen/search/sap.asp?StoreCode=Hardware&Prodid=1843697

Never heard of Planar, but it is a very slick black exterior 15 inch LCD monitor. gotta love that free ground shipping to from onvia. where are those $100 off of $500 onvia coupons now that we need them =)

<edit>
0.29 X 0.29 mm pixel pitch -- not very good. better off not getting this one i guess, unless you are in love with the black exterior

damn yoda...
beat me to my first REAL post.
ah well, anyone know anything about this monitor? saw at least one thing to think twice about, even at this killer price:

.29mm dot pitch

planar's web site shows that these come in fruity flavors, for those of you so inclined...
meself, i prefer the black.

Many old LCD's have .29 and .28mm dot pitch. It's very common.

New LCD's have .27 and .26mm. Remember that's dot pitch and not stripe pitch.

Stripe pitch of .23 or .22 = .26 dot pitch

Also check the responce time if this monitor can be used for gaming or DVD's. A big responce time is no good.

Here's a link to the monitor specs from Planar's website (PDF so you need Acrobat Reader):

Clink Clank

This shows a pixel pitch of 0.297 and a response time of 10 ms.

I'll leave it to the experts to tell us if this is a good one or not.

thanks all
