Warhawk (PS3)

I was just wondering if anyone is still playing this game, and how big the online community is. I was thinking of buying a copy now that finals are over (and I finally have some time to play something that isn't CoD4). Since it's MP only, and an older game (as far as PS3 games go), I wanted to check to see if people were still actively playing!

The online community is pretty big, last I checked. The game itself is still being actively supported through expansions - Broken Mirror is pretty new, in fact.

One of my biggest regrets is buying this game. The controls are crap. It just wasn't fun.

Really? It's probably my favorite PS3 game so far. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. The expansions really added a lot to it, too - the APC, in particular, really changes the way you play the game.

Agreed, I hated the controls. They were too complex IMO, and I could easily devise a better system. The controls while on foot were too floaty and hard to aim. Of course, I picked this up around the time I was playing CoD4, so CoD4 probably ruined me with it's basically perfect controller controls.

I have no issues at all with the controls. They are pretty standard FPS controls and using the d-pad to switch weapons is fast.

Anyway, I go through phases where I play and then don't play. Usually, Warhawk will fill the gaps when I'm not playing anything else. Since I'm playing GTA IV and Mario Kart Wii right now I haven't spent any time in Warhawk recently.

Thanks for the update... glad to see the online community is still doing well. I knew about the expansions/upgrades, and the game is pretty cheap now, so I might have to add it as my first PS3 game... if I don't like it I'm not out that much I suppose!
