Warhammer Online Collectors Edition

Horray! Just got mine today at the store. $10 bucks to get the preorder, rest on pickup.

$80 bucks, this will be my first collectors edition of any game, but its a birthday present, so I said why the hell not. I never ever know what I want for xmas and b-day, so this worked out perfect.

Not just the artwork and cool little figurine, but bonus items(one which gives 10% increase in EXP for total of 3 hours), extra heads to choose from when you create your charc, titles for in game, but the fact that you're guaranteed a spot in open beta(which is still random selection and only a certain amount get in) and you get to actually start playing before regular players to is pretty neat. Get a nice head start. I'm hoping its like 5-7 days head start...prolly more like 2-4, but who cares.

60,000 CE's to be sold in North America.

I hope it doesn't suck, otherwise i'll jes sell it on ebay.

That's a nice looking CE, too bad I gave up playing any real MMO. I just don't have the time to sink into them

I preordered mine on Amazon a little while back, game has my hopes up quite a bit I hope its good as well. FYI though its not a figurine its a real Warhammer model, so you have to paint it yourself (which I will have a lot of fun doing heh).

Might order it just for the artbook, I've always been a big fan of Warhammer's art, don't really care about the gimmicks though.

Hmm, I'm pretty excited about this game - DAoC was the first MMORPG in which I got a main to max level and played regularly in the endgame RvR. (EQ/EQ2 were just too boring, I'm still working on getting a guy to 70 in WoW). This seems like an evolution of that concept with a much better catalog of back story/world lore. Hopefully they incorporatie the WoW soloability and playability concepts that made it such a success without the cheese related to an afterthought "design on the fly" PvP/Arena system.

Well WoW has always been a PVE/Raid centric game. PvP is just an after thought designed to keep you playing while you wait for your raid timer to count down. Warhammer is focused on PvP/RvR as an end game mechanic so I am pretty sure it'll have way more depth in that department then the crap we see called PvP in WoW.

Pre-ordered the CE a couple days ago at Gamestop. Has anyone by chance recieved any special codes/emails yet since they pre-ordered. Not that I'm expecting one this early, but it would be nice to know how much time we'll get to play the Open beta before the game actually released.

Would be nice to have a couple weeks to experiment with different classes before settling in for the long haul when the servers go live.

I Pre-ordered my UK CE version 5 weeks ago,lucky I did since they are now sold out.

Looks like Warrior Priest will be one of the favourite characters,btw awesome HD video clip here .

Ya I was a bit surprised that there were still pre-order copies left in the USA. I imagine by mid-July they will be gone. I really hope they don't release more pre-order copies to make it that much more special for those that got in early.

A lot of members in Warhammer Online forums were saying its one of the better clips,its the Warrior Priest with his soliders up against the Chaos mobs,I like how the shadow Warrior appears to help out.Yep its Mark of Chaos clip (different game) but still a warrior priest ,same enemies etc.. .

Its not that old.

Great video but Yeah, but it says Warhammer: Mark of Chaos at the end which is an entirely different game going for like $20 or $30 right now.

I think choosing the right class will be the hardest part,CE version gives you access to open beta down the road and you can bet everybody in open beta will be trying out most classes to see which ones they like,crucial for when it goes live.

Man I'm really thinking about a Witch hunter now....stealth is always a huge advantage in MMO's...and they look soo badass.
Was originally thinking of starting an Orc Choppa....ehh I'll just have to see when I start playing I guess.

Quite simple on Destruction (Chaos) side you have,Chosen,Magus,Marauder,Zealot,Black Guard,Disciple of Khaine,Sorceress,Witch Elves,Black Orc,Goblin Shaman,Goblin Squig Herder,Orc Choppa


Order side or good side if you like are Engineer,Hammerer,Ironbreaker,Rune Priest,Archmage,Shadow Warrior,Swordmaster,Bright Wizard,Kinght of the blazing sun,Warrior priest,White lion ,Witch Hunter.


Each class on both sides has an opposite alt (so its balanced) ie Goblin Squig herder on Chaos side has an opposite enemy on order side is the White Lion(new class) which is a high elf with a white lion (pet class if you like),however all opposite classes have slightly different skills.

The Tank class for order is the Ironbreaker,Hammerer is big melee offensive DPS class, the big mage offensive class from what I read is the Bright Wizard.Warrrior priest can fight and heal and from what I read the more he fights the more power he has for healing.

I heard naysayers or whatever say this game is going to be a giant alterac valley...any truth do you think?

I'm a big fan of warhammer lore so i'm skipping AoC based on that, WoW -> WO for me, haha.

Malladine : no idea to tell you the truth,I'm skipping AoC for Warhammer too ,justs seems more my sort of game.

I have a lot of ex-SWG guild members waiting for it ,so it will be a reunion in a new game (on the order side since we will be outnumbered from what I have read so far).

outnumbered huh? interesting, that's a plus for joining Order certainly...i'm thinking warrior priest, bright wizard, engineer or archmage if i go that route. Marauder, Black Orc or DoK otherwise

They will have fortresses to conqueror in WAR same has they had keeps in DAOC to take over. So open world PvP is going to be a big factor in the game.

I pre-ordered from Gamestop about 6 days ago and haven't recieved my KEY yet. Has anyone else received theirs? I heard rumors about Gamestop having problems dispersing the keys.

Called their customer service and the guy put me on a "list" for the next batch of pre-order keys and said to expect it in about a week.

Anyone else care to share their experiences with all this thus far?
