because having a giant army of tanks and guys with guns is cool to look at and relatable to the GI-Joe of your youth.

this hoth themed army is pretty badass too.

In retrospect I should have just got a pre-painted army. My buddies enjoyed the painting but I hated it, I just wanted to play the game. The worst part with the IG were the eyes, you need a very steady hand to get the pupils aligned properly. I had a few too many figures with "crazy eyes".

I cheated and used a super fine felt tip pen for the pupil.

any of you guys ever play battlefleet gothic

I used to play BFG when I was big into warhammer, I thought it was a lot of fun but my friends didn't want to get into it so I ended up selling my fleet (chaos). I tried getting back into 40K after college but after seeing the ridiculous price increases I gave it up. I tried out warmachine, that is pretty fun but the scale seems to be approaching larger games which I was trying to avoid. I've been trying to get into Malifaux now, it's a really small skirmish game that uses cards instead of dice and the world is pretty interesting. I've looked at infinity a bit as well, mostly because the models for that look really cool.

Just warhammer talk so boring, let's have it about some real wargames.
