WareOut spyware

Anyone removed this spyware? My dad has it. Actually I also got it once and ended up just reinstalling because I deleted the wrong thing. I'm ready to beat it now. I just wonder if anyone's already done it.

I'll remember this the next time you say you've got no need for antivirus software Right-click and save this text file on your dad's computer, follow the directions for downloading & unzipping the scanning utility, disable System Restore, reboot into Safe Mode, and run the scan. McAfee recognizes WareOut.

I think McAfee's scanning capabilities are fairly good, and it may find more than you think if he's been running a free antivirus or none at all :Q Good luck!

Talk about reviving a thread...just remembered this one. :shocked:

My dad does use AVG. I got that WareOut crap removed a long time ago though (without reinstalling), no worries. Spybot/adaware are useless for some of the new spyware.

Hey- I still don't need antivirus, but my dad does. That wouldn't have helped anyway. This is spyware and AVG doesn't do spyware.
