The question is how often you run those instances. If you do it once or twice a week, that's ok. More about the experience and doing it with other people. If you do it every day for months, then it really sucks...
No no, you're right. I only do those instances a few times a week at most. I belong to a guild that starting running MC maybe 3 months ago or so (about once a week, maybe twice for a farming run), and so that part has been really fun because I've been able to watch us progress as a group. You have to find something that becomes gratifying. You no longer have that goal of getting to the next level, so instead you have to find something that gives you the same sort of sense of accomplishment. I don't belong to a hardcore raiding guild that takes down Onyxia every week, and I don't want, because even that would get boring then.
Other than that, I try not to burn myself out too badly, and spend a little time on my alt instead of Scholo/Strat/UBRS/LBRS/whatever every day. Looking forward to trying out AQ though.
