I have a (ATI Radeon 64 DDR VIVO graphic card) installed, I dual boot W2k & Win 98SE but in both OS's I can play any other game except WarCraft III. I love this game but my video card can't handle the drive of this game. I have update BIOS, installed Catalyst 2.2 drivers, ver. 6118 (W2k) & ver. 9050 (W98SE), updated miniport drivers, and contacted ATI, Asus, and Blizzard tech support. Still my efforts to play this game have been unsucessful.

Here are my symptoms: as soon as the games begins, I get bright flashes of color, then display starts to break up in the background, and then finally lockup. Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Does anyone here have the same ATI card and are able to play WarCraft III without problems?

If so, please give me some pointers on card settings. Here are my spec's:

[refresh rate 75 Hz, 16bpp colors GUI resolution 1024x768 (game resolution default 800x600x32)/Anistropic Filter: 16X/Anti-ailasing: performance 4X/Vertical sync: application preferrence/Texture & Mipmap details: High]

BIOS: L1 & L2 Cache: enabled/AGP to DRAM Prefetch: enabled/Video Memory Cache Mode: USWC/Video ROM BIOS Shadow: enabled/ no OC'ing (using award ver1004A, because I tried v.1007 and it crash my PC, have got the nerve to try v. 1005 or v.1006)

CPU temp: 58C
M/B temp: 33C

Hardware:

Asus A7M266
Athlon 1.3 GHz CPU
512 MB Cosair PC-2100 DDR SDR
Adaptec 2940U2W SCSI Controller
2ea. 18 Gig SCSI Seagate Cheetah's (10k rpm)
Plextor UltraPlex 40X SCSI CD ROM
Turtle Beach Santat Cruz Sound Card
400 watt Antec PSU

Any help is much appreciated!:(

Your video card can DEFINITELY handle the game. God I've got it on my GF's P3-933 w/ onboard video & it's runs "ok"
Try setting the video settings in game to the same as your desktop res.
You have 4xAA on?? With War3? Try turning that off & then see if it runs.
