Warcraft 3 loves RAM

Ok so I used mech's great programs recently, and I have Uptimer4 running, and before it reads 314/512 for my free RAM, and then I start warcraft 3. I get on bnet and I play about 20 games, during this binge I noticed my RAM levels decreasing after each game: 281, 241, 235, etc, all the way down to 34 in the last game! I'm not real concerned, I thought it was kinda funny so I had to tell someone, finally when I quit warcraft 3 it jumped back up to 314. So why on earth would each game take my RAM and then run off with it? Or does uptimer still have a few bugs? Reply if you want, anyone, or don't.

it's just the way that it works. i'm sure if some other application was looking for some RAM the kernel would steal it back.

maybe it leaves the maps in memory in case you need them again, only cleaning them out when you are running low.

This really sucks, I had this whole intelligent come back, but it was deleted because I said a "censored word".

What a rip off.

its call memory leaking. Get a gig of ram, it helps a lot if you are doing other things while waring

loading maps, specific races relebant to the game, etc... I would say custom game maps are the largest factors in terms of eating up ram.

Thanks, ya my reply was gonna be pointing out there is more to strategy games than twitch games or online "grinding games", also the people who brag about their frag count when all they are proud of is how much better their hardware is than the people they kill. And some other stuff too, not all bad and angry crap :)

On another note, I think its funny that these forums are censored, I was with pcgonline at delphi for a while, and they have no censors. I wish it would copy my text before I sent it anyway, seems more logical. Just glad I didnt write like a page, but I prolly would have copied it if it was that long, still.....
