warcraft 3 in the FS/FT forums

well I guess they dont care, its like the NFR software posts they just dont care.

Microsoft even tried to get me to call them to discuss the posts in teh forums, I just gave them anands email and let him deal with them. since they will be going after him not me 🙂
 
I'm surprised people will pay for (or trade some amount of goods) for a beta. That's like buying a car which is put out on the market to test the waters, to see how often it breaks down. 🙂

Well then, I guess you can leave since this forum isn't anything special.

As for your original thread topic...Give the mods a bit of a break. I don't think any laws are being broken by this. On a side note, I think you need to step off of your own high-horse sometimes. You could PM the mods with some of this stuff, but you seem to want to come and start a thread every week about somebody doing something bad.

this is a issue that needs to be dealt with before you lose this forum cause people want to post things and get sued.

but unless your a lawyer and are going to offer your services for free when they do please go complain someplace else

Why would microsoft do that? I mean how did microsoft find out about you? Why didn't they contact anand in the first place?
or did you email microsoft about it? If you did, why? If they are going to come after Anand ( in your words) why not let him deal with notifying microsoft?
 
If you don't like it, then you don't have to stay here...

Why does it bother u that some other member is gonna get sued? It's his/her own choice for putting it up for sale, so let them deal w/any consequences.

 
You agree to the EULA when you open the package, no? If you haven't opened it, then you haven't agreed to the EULA, thus you cannot be in violation of it... Almost makes sense to me.

Well, I'm glad you know my posting habits since I post soooooooooooo much. I'm also not worried about AT getting sued.

I responded with my thoughts on your subject. This forum is called "Forum Issues." I don't think that this is much of a forum issue. What's your big problem with it? I'm sure you've never done anything remotely bad. Noooo...not you...

Why the hell would Microsoft contact you?! I didn't realize how important you were to these forums. Now that I know, I will get on my knees and bow in your presence.

And finally, once again, if you think these forums "are going to be like all the other lame ones," then go ahead and leave. See if I care. One less person to suck away bandwidth. I'm sure another lame forum would be excited to have a mod much like yourself at their forums.

Usually on beta tests you agree to the eula long before you are sent or allowed to download any software and I havent seen a beta yet where they allow you to sell your beta account or any software you get. Profiting from such a transaction is just plain wrong.
 
The way I see it Strawberrymom, is that you have to pick your battles. You can't post here every little thing you see on these boards that you do not agree with. If you post to forum issues,make your original post and then sit back and let others respond. There is no sense in replying back to every post in here. You made your point and now leave it to the Moderators. If they feel it warrants action on their part, they will take it. If not.....just watch your post sink into oblivion in this forum and don't let it worry you any longer. 😉

You can't lay the entire blame of the fs/ft forum going downhill on the moderators. If you aren't implying that, I apologize but in all of your posts in this thread, the finger is always pointing to "someone" or "them" (but undeniably, in reference to the mods). In the year and change I've been here, I've watched certain forums go up and down in terms of quality, content, etc but the mods have usually been on the ball with the occasional laisez faire attitude. It's a volunteer job, and on top of that, maybe the mods are debating whether or not they should or can stop the Warcraft threads? I don't remember an influx of Diablo 2 beta sales so this is, I believe, their first experience dealing with a beta sale.

And remember, it's certain _users_ who cause the problems... somehow, you're blowing everything out of proportion and making the mods the ones responsible. For what, not taking action? I think the root of the problem is the ones who did take action, the ones who are posting the sales.
