I dont know what happened but i just installed vista today to try out and installed warcraft 3: frozen throne...then the sound was working fine until the blizzard update to 1.20e and after that the sound dont work anymore...anybody else having this problem?

Same problem here, but I use the onboard nForce 4 sound. If you read Blizzard forum's, many people have the same problem with no fix. Personally, I've tried every compatibility mode, administrative mode etc with no luck as well.

I played this with Beta 2 and had the same problems, lucky for you there is a fix at least with x86.

I havn't tested it out with RC1, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Fist go download this banlist program(used in DOTA games all the time).

http://www.banlist.nl/

Next, run the banlist as an administrator, then start Warcraft 3 as an administrator, sound should work. The banlist program runs some sound files that allows it to somehow work in Vista.

lol i know about dota and the banlist program...i mainly play warcraft for dota.. 🙂 but how would the banlist make the sound work?

I don't know why exactly, but the program does initialize some sound files. Whatever it does, it makes it work. Have you tried it yet. I'm also curious to know if it still works like that with RC1. I havn't had a chance to install WC3 yet on it.

hmm...ill give it a try later today when I get home. I notice that the right click menu doesnt work on web pages when I install google toolbar either : / ...after I disable the google toolbar then it works again...overall vista is slowly gettin there...

The biggest problem is there aren't many drivers or programs that have been updated to work with Vista. The google toolbar is most likely not compatable with IE7.
