Hi,

I'm currently running War3 with the No-CD hack by Deviance. All the Single Player and Battlenet options work perfectly but I'm having trouble in one issue. Has anyone tried to create an "arranged" game under Warcraft3's Battlenet? Whenever I do and "invite" other people for a game, they get the message that a firewall or a router is blocking permission. I currently run ZoneAlarm Pro 3.0 and I'm having trouble creating such games.

In case someone has experience with Zone Alarm Pro 3.0, here's the settings I have on for War3:

Program Access Server
Trusted Internet Trusted Internet

Warcraft III Check Check Check Check

I also tried right-clicking on "warcraft III," and chose "options." I made sure the command, "Allow access to all ports and protocols," was checked. The other options beneath that one are: "Allow access for ONLY the ports and protocols checked below" & "Allow access for any port EXCEPT those checked below."

I'm lost and the ZoneAlarm manual didn't provide any specific instructions. It just said that the firewall would automatically open and close ports as it sees fit for gaming.

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks, wormhole, for the zone alarm info link. Unfortunately, though, the settings recommended still doesn't solve the connectoin problem. Just to be sure I checked to see whether the WinXP firewall was on but it was off. I would rather not turn off my firewall just to play "arranged" games. Oh well, guess i'll have to live with it. thanks again for the link.

You need to open the correct ports on your firewall software. If ZoneAlarm isn't doing this automatically do it manually yourself. I don't remember the ports offhand but I believe they are listed in the WC3 manual (I'm guessing you don't have one :-/ )along with how to fix this problem. I believe there are 2 ports you'll have to open.

I was having the same problem as well...solved it simply by opening access thru port 6112 I believe was the #.

Hi,

Have you guys checked out the link posted by wormhole in reply to my question? It describes how to enable and open all the ports needed to play Warcraft 3 (it's written by Blizzard staff). Well, it didn't work. Yes, I own the manual and the whole game (no warez, in fact, I have the $80 collector's edition) but the instruction book doesn't tell me anything new that wormhole's link did not provide.

Meanwhile, until someone comes up with a solution they would like to share, I'm just playing War3 on Battlenet without creating any Arranged Games.

I believe Blizzard states that ports 4000 and 6112-6119 need to be opened for both UDP and TCP.

I've read elsewhere that only port 6112 needs to be open.

I just set up DSL at home and I'm using a Zyxel Prestige 645R router. I couldn't create "arranged team" games either. I opened the port configuration screen on the router and found I could only configure 8 ports. The first port was listed as "default" which apparently would apply to ALL ports. That left me with 7 to play with. I opened ports 4000 and 6112-6117. And hoped it would work.

Well it did. I can now create "arranged team" games.

Having read that only port 6112 is needed, I'll go home to night and reconfigure the ports to see just which ones I do need.
