People are out protesting the war here in Orlando.

Young people! Don't they know they should be on their cell phones talking to their brokers about next week's market?

Sheezh....

Are these happening in your towns and cities?

I stopped at the store and picked up some bottled water and power bars to give to the kids. As I walked up I yelled out: "Why aren't you supporting President Bush?" They all stared at me. Not a peep. Then I said: "What? You have no defense for this nonsense?" I thought one sparrowish girl was going to faint dead away, but finally one of the kids blurted out something like "Bush lied to America." To which I responded: "No SH**! I agree with you. Don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in! Here!" I handed them the water and power bars. :) :)

They must have wondered who the crazy old guy was, but I was proud of them.

Is this a great country or what?

We had some of those want to be hippies on camopus protesting the war. They got all upset when I told them it was to late the war is over. I don't think we should have started this war but that doesn't mean we can just pull out when ever we want we need to finsh the job.

I drove past the state capital here in Austin 2x this morning. Aside from the two DPS cars that normally guard the entrance to the capital and lightly-raining, overcast conditions, all is quiet.

Well, there were no riots.

Also, no FBI agents snapping photos. At least none I could see. :) Is Ashcroft going to let us down? Gee whiz, couldn't he at least make a good faith effort at standing in for the ghost of Hoover? :)

Actually the war is not over, Bush has not ended it yet. The major hostilities between two armies are over but there is still a lot of fighting and killing going on in Iraq.

P.S. This was in the Sunni Triangle. Man if the Shiite's get invovled it ain't going to be a good day in Iraq for a long time.

Been protests against both the war in Afghanastan and Iraq in New hampshire. Usually a few times a month in the capitol, Concord. Went to london over winter break and they have a perma-protest outside parliament :).

I go to school in el'conservo'ville, Texas (Waco). I am a student at Baylor University. We had an anti-war protest in November 2002. It was quite fun. Out of the 13,000 students on our campus only about 50 ~ 60 of them showed up, but 2 friends and I made it on the front cover of the next days Waco paper :) .

BTW: My friends and I talked on our cell phones before the meeting, if that is any consolation ;)

Jm not THE Morrison: :)

Way to go! Keep it coming this year. Send a message to those Texans! The anti-war demonstrations made a difference-finally-in ending the war in VIetnam. (Of course, guys like Kerry coming home and blasting Nixon didn't hurt.)
