Anyone check out the trailer for this?

Does anyone have some good pictures of aliens?

Anyway whats the story of this movie. Invaders come down, wipe out our military, etc.

Does the military get knocked out? A nuke should kick the crap out of tripods and thier ships. Ive been reading and they say the martians are really humans and have been here the whole time

Im sure the creative "genius" behind directing this one will change something about the story like they aways do in remakes.

Dear lord, read HG Wells sometimes. The man was waaaay ahead of his time.

From what I understand, Spielberg is working off the original story and setting it in modern times. A few things have been changed (no black gas) but it is true to the original otherwise.

Would have been so good to have it set in its original location and time. I.E. Victorian England.

I fear that the modern setting will make it just another independence day. *sigh*

it's being kept top secret. i have a friend that works at dreamworks. he had to read the script in spielberg's office and wasn't allowed to leave with a copy of it.

You'll get to see the actual aliens. They'll likely be revealed later just like in the original movie.

Hopefully, the trailers will continue not to show the ships or the aliens. I freaking hate trailers that show the entire movie in 30secs (see more recent Star Wars trailer).
