I thought the it was mainly a war in the northern territories, between Britain and the United States?

Why is Canada mainly French/Canadian now and there is like no remaining sign of Britain?

Maybe there is, but all I see and hear about are the French in Canada.

Did Britain leave because they had nothing to gain by staying in Canada?

This isn't a Canada bashing thread, just a inquiry.

Cliff's would be nice.

Depends on which part of Canada you go to.

You could have fooled us here in the south. Andrew Jackson and his gang kicked the English out of Louisiana when they tried to invade New Orleans.

Canada did not get true freedom from the British untill after World War 2, IIRC. They are still in that little commonwealth.

My understanding is that Canada was largely originally settled by the French, but gradually lost control of it. Finally after the French and Indian war, Britain won control over Canada completely. I do find it interesting how the French culture has survived far better than in the midwest, where the French retained the Great Plains for a longer period of time. Now all that we have to indicate the French settlements are the names and spellings they gave to the cities and geography. It's Illi-nnoy, not Illi-noise. Blame the French for that.
