An old but classic excerpt (not the full speech) from Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.....who received not one but TWO Congressional Medal of Honor awards.

I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

Beautiful..

Too bad he had to waste 33 years of his life before figureing that one out. Woulda been nice and profitable if he maintained the willing suspension disbelief and jump on a board at someplace like Hughes Aircraft and Sunday News circuit. Live and learn I guess.

War was a great stimuli for the economy and for bringing the nation out of the great depression... if you choose to eliminate the human factor from the equation... war is a directed economic stimuli.. but causes an increase in debt... which tends to increase inflation... but, if you are correctly invested ... war can be very profitable.. The key is to be invested at the right time. Of course this would be insider information and illegally gotten ... unless of course ... well... we did eliminate the human factor... of greed..
