Given that the main headline under recent updates (found right below the "Play Game" button) dated July 1, 2014 says
Warface Beta is now available on Steam!



I am inclined to agree that it is a beta. Made by Crytek helps explain the extra attention it's getting. I didn't look too hard at the game past the screenshots and the aforementioned headline to see who made it, I have yet to find a F2P that was worth my time, Warframe and Path of Exile included.



I do believe this is their F2P game, so the beta moniker doesn't mean much in regards to price. Might mean something in regards to progress wipes, though.
 
I'm going to try it when I get a chance. I wonder if it has a story to be played online or if it's just a mp fps.
 
The game's already been out in the US for at least a year, I think. They're just finally putting it on Steam, because Crytek needs money I assume.

Everything that I've heard about it tells me that it's pay2win garbage.

Really ? I didn't know it's been out for a long time so far. Yea I hate pay 2 win stuff if it has to do with improvements. I don't care if you have to pay for extra skins or trinkets but when it comes down to other stuff that affects performance it sucks.
