"War" by Bob Woodward

Fenixgoon

Lifer
CNN's synopsis of the book can only be described as "filled with numerous "holy shit" moments".

Among other things:

Trump secretly supplied Putin with covid tests for his personal use

Trump made repeated phone calls to Putin after exiting office

Biden is fucking livid with Bibi over Gaza

The US knew of Russia's invasion plans for
Ukraine in detail including human intelligence within the Kremlin (The US shared said intel with Ukraine)

Putin threated nuclear escalation over Ukraine

Edit: spelling/clarity

The list goes on.

Really don’t know why Woodward still considered so esteem? Asshat leaks comments that just inflame current delicate negotiations. Asshat holds back evidence that effected public health during covid until he is ready to release his book. Was he really that breaking news reporter during the Nixon days?

Woodward's books are about the only political books worth reading. His books during the Trump era were especially good-The Donald just can't resist leaking/bragging to him.

The US got bin Laden because alive he was a threat to national security. Trump is a wonderful past President but he seems like he could be a threat to Ukraine. Maybe he should be protected at a secret location.

I remember the part about the US having intel pre Ukraine invasion. Zelensky didn’t believe it would really happen

Both Trump AND his campaign said neither of these was true.

From the campaign spokesperson "None of these made-up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,"

From Trump: "That's false," "He's a storyteller. A bad one. And he's lost his marbles,"

From the Kremlin spokesperson: He confirmed that Trump sent the tests but denied Woodward’s claim that the two had spoken multiple times since Trump left office in 2021.

Sad when even your sub rosa buddies won't back up your lie.

Personally this is not surprising since other sources (including William Burns current CIA chief who was a diplomat with opportunities to speak with many Russian officials existed) existed prior to the printing of this book which had lay bare Russia's attitude toward NATO expanding too far east.
He relayed what many told him which was Russia would take NATO Member countries on its border...
Not Well. Maybe one could extrapolate that it would be as well as D.C. reacting to Russia providing Cuba with missiles (At Best).
Given the time of Chief Burns assignment to Moscow this was known many years before the invasion.

Does this justify invasion? not according to international law.
But what it does show is that it wasn't a surprise, nor should it have been (at least to those in government with a need to know) unless the person claiming surprise is a liar or an idiot.

Among the evidence for this is cables on the subject sent by Burns to D.C. during his time as a diplomat being leaked.

They also said Woodward's claim of him lying to the public about Covid wasn't true until he released recordings.

Trump may well win this election because there is no real truth left. It shows if you are hateful and shameless and never admit you’re wrong than people will ignore reality and love you as long as you tell them what they want to hear.

That jackass told women in town hall he was the father of IVF. And gets no pushback or scorn. It is amazing watching half the people in this country be so gullible and unable to remember his years as President and his blatant lies. I guess until they see everything burn down they believe it won’t happen to them. Only that evil “other” out to replace them.

What a sad downfall of an empire. A 78 years hateful narcissist who shits himself while giving speeches filled with laughably bad lies is all it took.

I don't like Woodward because he holds back relevant information from the public so he can make extra money releasing it later in a book.

You LOL at Woodward because the fascist scumbag you support and vote for might not like the information he eventually releases.

Congrats, collaborator.
Pcgeek loves the fact Trump stated he would use the military against the American people. I am sure pcgeek thinks he isn’t the “type” who will be targeted.

Trump will use military on us citizens - pcgeek approves

Case in point:
