Hi,
I am a noob on these forums, and a noob with upgrading computers (especially the CPU)
I would like to upgrade my Dell Latitude E6430 laptop's CPU, it currently has a 3rd gen Core i5 3320M CPU, and I am looking to upgrading it to a Core i7 3612QE. The problem is, I've been looking on the specs of each, and comparing them, and the Core i7 doesn't support as much RAM, lower turbo, and "standard" clock speed (although I don't really care, because it has 4 cores, and HT), and it says the Intel HD 4000 graphics it has is 1 Ghz, and the chip that came with the i5 goes to 1.2 Ghz. Does this mean (because the gpu is separate from the cpu) that the i7 cpu will restrict the hd 4k gpu?
Another thing, the i5 supports anti-theft, and wireless display, unlike the i7.
These are useful features I will most likely be using. (4G sounds cool too, but I dont know how to set that up)
Since my laptop has 2 mPCIe half-card slots free (3 in total) would there be a substitute for those features?
Is this i7 a good CPU to upgrade to? Will the laptop be able to cool it down properly?
Thank you so much for helping me out!
