My current config:

Geforce 4 TI 4400 video card on a Shuttle motherboard with 2nd gen Nforce 2 chipset. Is it worth it to upgrade to a newer DirectX 9 video card?

What am I considering:

ATI 9600 Pro

or

ATI 9600 XT

or

Nvidia FX 5700 Ultra.

If I am not going to see any improvement I will keep my current config. If I will definately see an improvement in my antiailising in HALO, then I will upgrade.

I saw a noticeable improvement going from a 4600 to a 9800Pro. However, from the benches I've seen, I doubt you'd see much of anything going from a 4400 to any of those cards (except that you could run AA/AF on the 9600Pro/XT in some situations where you can't now). Moving up to a 5900NU or 9700Pro/9800NP might do something for you, but then you're looking at spending $200 or more.

I think the minimum upgrade should be a 9700/5900. And you wouldn't see any improvment with aa in halo; you can't use it in that game.
