Hi I recently built a new computer, it is a Q6600, 8GBs of RAM and an 8800GT. I am running OS X 10.5.5, and I want to setup F@H. I downloaded the client and set it up and everything put my username as leglez, and team number 198. I am not sure if I need to register the username or what? I keep checking team 198 and don't see myself on the list. How long does it usually take? Any ideas why it wouldn't work?

Nope, no registration is needed. The statistics servers will pick you up within 3 hours of returning your first work unit.

Which client(s) are you using? Looks like they provide both a single-CPU and SMP client for Macs, though I know nothing about what the Mac SMP one looks like. Hopefully nothing like the Windows one ;)

I downloaded the one with the gui I know that. Not really sure what SMP is, I am guessing for multiple CPU?

SMP stands for Symmetric Multi-Processor, so yes :) The SMP client assumes you have 4 cores/CPUs, and the work units therefore are larger and have shorter deadlines. (It also assumes you can run nearly 24/7)

You've most likely got the single-processor client. (Short units & long deadlines.) Mac users are somewhat hard enough to come by, so the recently written Guides at the official site are missing Mac instructions...

On a Windows or Linux machine, you can also make 4 copies of the single-CPU client, (in 4 seperate folders,) assign each one a unique "Machine ID number," and fire them all up. There may be a way to do this with yours, but I don't know how to go about it in OSX.
