Wanting to paint laptop but its not plastic

its magnesium alloy i think....i only want to paint the lcd back, its all scratched up. But i'm not sure if i should follow the tutorials online since their notebooks are plastic

Perhaps automotive paint would be appropriate sman789, considering it's a "alloy" material, just a suggestion :)

If you sand it down with some high grit sandpaper and spray auto paint it should be fine. However, I would suggest a few coats of clearcoat so that you don't rub off that paint etc.
