Wanting to network win 98se and an xp system

Im getting a xp system from dell and am wanting to link it up to play games with my compaq which has windows 98se. Is this possible and also my dell already has a nic card in it. I will have to buy a card for my compaq. Im looking to get this as cheap as possible and Im really not sure what I really need or not as for as cables are concerned. Hope someone can help me?

Is this all I need to get going?
If so Im glad because this cost less than $10 combined.

it'll definitely let you share printers. not sure how to share scanners, but if it's possible then that config will let you do that too
