I'm new to the world of computer forums, and I want to learn all I can about everything. I know that sounds cheesy, but I need to take my place in society, and I believe computer hardware and such is the key.

The question I'd like to pose is this: What are the latest mobo's? Where can I find this information? All I have is this VT-503+ that I'm trying to learn inside and out, and I'd like to expand. If you want to limit your response to 3 mobo's, that'd be fine. Maybe a mobo for Intel and/or AMD, and whatever else is out there.

Thanks in advance!

Read various review sites and spend some time in the forums but be sure to make up your own mind rather than believing everything you hear here. Motherboards fall in and out of favor here very quickly. What you'll learn from these forums is if it comes from Abit/Asus then it must be good. Currently the hot mobo is the msi K7T(various revisions)-outstanding but not as good as people make it out to be. You'll hear lot of people who've never owned abit boards swear against it becuase of Abit's reputation for high rma rates.

Ive been hearing alot about the MSI Pro2a...both good and bad from reading posts here on anand; Can anyone recommend me a good mobo for an AMD 1GHZ Tbird? I will not be overclocking and primary am looking for stability and ATA100 support (but i do have a PCI ATA 100 card so its not a must for the ATA100, but would rather not use up an extra PCI slot). Any recommendations would be appreciated. I will continue to research this issue. Thanks

I would recommend a MSI board. I have yet to experience a crash. I was mainly looking for stability, as well as the least incompatiblity issues (and good performance too)
