Wanting to go to Ginza of Tokyo in Madison

Hey everyone, yes I'm back with internet for now. I'm wanting to take my SO and several other friends (group of around 7-10 people) to a genuine Japanese Hibachi for some fun good food. When I asked about it I was told to look into Ginza of Tokyo.

I see they have several several locations. Does anyone in the Madison area have experience with them? In addition to that, are there other Hibachi places in the Madison area that would be even better?

I wasn't impressed with Ginza's teppanyaki. I'd recommend Takumi on the east side or, if you want something downtown, Takara on State Street.

If you are willing to forgo teppanyaki entirely, Muramoto (Restaurant M or Sushi M) are where it's at for Japanese food.

Hibachi is not genuine Japanese to begin with.

QFT. I took some of my japanese friends to the local habachi grill to let them see how stupid american-japanese food is. they left extremely enraged at the degradation of their culture and the fake culture that was being pawned off as real. i think they were angry over nothing, but our cook was an asshat.

It's entertaining at least...but not anything like teppanyaki either.

While the benihana chains did originate from a Japanese entrepreneur it's no more Japanese than a McDonalds owned by someone from Japan.

There was a place in monona that did good sushi, I normally go to takara personally. If you want to try Ginza just go to the one on state like everyone else.

Also if you like tai food go to Vientiane Palace on gorham, they have fantastic pad tai.

I was thinking Edo Garden, I have been there for sushi and it was fairly good with good presentation.

I'm looking into those suggestions, and I thank everyone who contributed helpful replies. Just keep in mind I'm not just looking for sushi, but have the intention of an entire meal, so the entire menu, not just the sushi options, are very important.

I'm a huge fan of Ginza - my wife and I try to go about once a month. The west side location is closer to us so we go to it most often, but it is very run down and dingy and dark compared to the east side location. The east location is more like a Benihana, interior-wise. Both serve equally great food. I think the prices are fairly decent. I get filet and shrimp for my entree and I think that is $22. With that you get a large portion of filet with mushrooms, soup, salad, shrimp appetizer (that everyone gets), extra shrimp, vegetables (onions and zucchini), white rice (fried rice is $2.95 extra I think, but is very good), and beansprouts at the end of dinner. Drinks are kind of pricy - $3.50 or so for a bottle of domestic beer.
