Wanting to get in on ebay action, what's a good way to start?

I'm bored with life and i think ebay may be the way to spice things up. Anyone got tips (or maybe a good book) on making $$$ off ebay?

Sell stuff you don't need. Buy stuff you do need.
Just make sure it's "need" and not "want".

1) get a CC with a huge limit
2) hit the hot deals forum
3) have lots of patience for rebates
4) profit

here is the big rule on egay: people will buy anything! Dont try to cream every sale, some wont pay as much as you want. Let the auction go for at least 7 days so people have plenty of time to bid.

i don't agree with the 7 day rule unless its a unique item.
if there are a bunch on ebay i do 3 days.
when i bid myself i look for the auction that is ending the soonest
