I?m thinking of pulling the trigger on these parts. I want to have more eye candy in my gaming life. Is there any constructive criticism on this computer? Please compare to my computer in my signature if you would be so kind. How much could I recoup selling my computer down in my signature? Thanks Bunches.

i would get at least the +3800 . processor. also i like the boxed processors . have three year warrenty oem (not boxed) only have one years. keep the heat sink and fan even if you dont use it.

I play games so would the 3800+ be better than the 3700+ with 1mb cache

The dual core that I would want is the 4400+ and don't have the money for that so I thought I would go slow and move from the 3200+ to the 3700+ with more cache because the 3700+is only 200.00.

I own an A8V-E Deluxe with the 3700+ stable overclocked to 2.8Ghz. If you are not going dual-core, why get a new motherboard? Edit: My bad, you have the A8V AGP board, so yeah, a new motherboard makes sense.

If I were you, just get the 3700+, the new memory sticks (so you could run the memory at 1T with just two sticks) and maybe a more powerful PSU like the Antec TruepowerII 550, the eVGA 7800GT, and a XP-120 heatsink and a 120mm Panaflo fan.

id go dual core, if you do any photo editing or multi tasking. Additionally, both the 3800+ and the Opty 165 overclock a ton, so you can get it to 2.5 easy

Just a thought, if you want more gaming eye candy, your current board will support the dual-core X2 chips with a BIOS update: http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpus...spx?SLanguage=en-us&model=A8V%20Deluxe

You can also get an AGP 7800 series video card (the 7800GS): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130269

These two alone will dramatically improve your eye candy for only $600, if you buy the X2 3800+ and overclock the thing to X2 4600+ levels or higher.

Best bang for the buck.
