to give credit I stole that pic from Kelly Rayburn over on PMWF.com (poor mans watch forum)

That one looks nice.

I agree it's a nice watch. But that price point is nearing the range of my Rolex datejust.
I was just looking to see if there is a "no hassle, daily watch" that satisfies the 4 things I was looking for and would have price range less than $1000 as a gift from the wife.

I voted for the first one, I still think it looks awesome- and I usually don't favor the silver/gold look. But, it's your taste and it has to match your clothes, or else it might look gaudy. Good luck, I hope you enjoy whatever watch you decide on.

What about that watch? I know it's not sapphire crystal, it's a material called Hardlex Crystal and I've never heard of it before. This one I've been personally looking at but maybe even with your browsing, I can narrow down which ones I want too.

Ack! That thing is not for me, but to each his own. Hardlex is mineral crystal. Although it's the most common crystal material, I think it's the worst of all worlds, in that it's not nearly as scratch-resistant as sapphire, nor is it as repairable as acrylic.

That's probably why. It's right in the middle, as I researched it, with the properties you said. Also, that's not a style I'd want either, but I happened to pass by it and thought of the OP. :)

It stinks looking for watches for me because they never sort by the crystals, just the movement and almost everything else. But I never see the thing for crystals.

Unlike the OP, I'm looking for something that's more for business/formal occasions.
