Wanted: nice monitor

So, I'm having trouble reading my laptop screen (15.4" 1920x1200) late at night while working on projects and whatnot. I was thinking to buy an external monitor.

I've been pretty well spoiled by high resolution, and would like something at least 1600 x 1200, if not the same as my lappy resolution.

What kinds of options are available for nice resolution monitors, and what kinds of prices should I be looking for?

I really don't care; I like CRTs, but I'm afraid a very large one wouldn't fit in my desk. I'd go for an LCD assuming it didn't cost too much more; I don't like the ghosting or whatever you call the results of the slow pixel switching times, but I can get used to it like I have with my laptop.

I'm really just looking for something with good resolution for a fairly low price.

Good options IMO are:

Dell 2405FPW 24" 1920x1200
Dell 2005FPW 20" 1680x1050

Both of these are widescreen LCD's. I personally own the 2005FPW, and I use it with my PC as well as my mac. The panel in the 2005FPW is the same as the one in the Apple 20" display, so if you want to get an idea of it's response time etc... Just check out a 20" at an Apple store.

It shouldn't be too hard to find some good deals on these screens either, just Google "dell coupons", and with a bit of patience you should be able to reduce the price considerably.

don't think you will get much ghosting with 12 ms and below for LCD
they should be pretty affordable if u dont go viewsonic or sony

say hyundai, samsung, BenQ would offer a reasonable price for at least a 19 inch LCD with good specs for your needs!
good luck anyhow
