My brother has a computer right next to his TV and we want to make it so that we can put a DVD in the computer but have the video and sound play through the TV and it's speakers. How can this be accomplished? I've got the video to work easily so far - it'll run fine through the RCAs or the S-video. Getting the sound to play through the TV equipment is the problem.
This computer has a Voodoo 3, Creative 12X DVD, Creative DXR3 decoder, and a SB Live! Value. The TV is a brand new Sony 32" flat screen, so it has all of the connections that a new TV has. We also have a Sony receiver that we could run things through if needed.
So my question is how can I get the sound to switch over to the TV when the video does? Can I do it easily with the equipment that we have? If not, what would I need to buy to make this work? PLEASE help. Thanks all
