So, I have a bunch of DivX videos (entire 1st season of Veronica Mars) that I'd like to playback on my PocketPC running Windows Mobile 2003.

What's the best way to convert the files? Should I transcode them into WMV or MPEG?

I've tried Windows Media Encoder with the PocketPC profile, but the quality sucks.

Any pointers and/or tools you know about?

http://divx.ppccool.com/ for encoding. Really fast, really easy, and free.

http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about for watching.

The built in WMP has barely any options and doesn't support most files. TCPMP supports divx so you dont' even have to convert the files if your PDA is fast enough. My Axim X3 high is fast enough to play HDTV recorded divxes without conversion. TCPMP is basically the MPC of PPC. :)
