Want to use a local (LAN) chat software

I am trying to find chat software that I can push out to a local area network only. It just has to be a real time chat and free. Anyone use anything? I found a bunch of different software out there,Winpopup NET messenger 1.2, is one.

Jabber server and Jabber clients.

I use wildfire jabber server in the office and Gaim chat clients. All free and it was pretty easy to set up. I just have the server running on an old laptop. 🙂

borg chat served the purpose and works with any network i set up, be it wireless or onboard lan. try it

I like the idea of a server and client. Primarily so I can issue people contact lists and the what not. Do any of these hook into Windows AD? I will research both of these choices.
