I have a PC I built back in 2008 which works pretty good (esp since installing the SSD drive), but it's time to get it upgraded.

I'm hoping to use what components I can form this old system. I presume I can use the case, and drives. Not sure about the rest. Listed below is what I have. Hoping for recommendations on what I should replace, and what with.

It is NOT used for gaming, but I do edit videos, and work with Photoshop and photography software, and of course usual home type stuff. Not wanting to break the bank, but I do like to purchase stuff that will last a while performancewise.

Current system
CASE: Antec NSK 6000 Mid Tower
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX
8GB Memory: 8GB CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Power Supply: Antec earthwatts EA500 500W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.2 80 PLUS
Processor: Intel Quad 9450 2.66GHz CPU

Shouldn't have any issues re-using the case, although it may lack niceties of newer cases, like front USB3.0/3.1gen2.

SSD can probably be re-used (you didn't list it), if SATA, although depending on what newer platform you choose, you might want to go with an M.2 PCI-E SSD for your boot OS drive.

PSU, depends on how old it is. If it's older than 5 years, then replace it. Not sure if that one is even "Haswell Ready", which is a requirement of all newer systems.

In short, you're looking at a pretty-much complete upgrade.

Look for Ryzen 5 1600/1600X, B350 motherboard, 16GB kit (2x8GB) of single-sided Samsung "b-die" DDR4-3200 CAS14 RAM, and a dGPU. (Which is required by you current system too - what do you have installed for a video card?)
