Want to upgrade CPU... PSU going to be sufficient?

with a setup like that, i don't think it's an overkill to move on to something like antec truepowerII 550watts. you could give your self some headroom for oc and future upgrades too with 550watts
 
It should be okay.

You might possibly run into issues OCing, but likely even not.

Many OEM manufacturers use less than that for similar systems, though, granted, w/o the video card.
 
I agree no ocing...I have seen 4400+ X2s with lesser video cards give 430 antec power supplies issues with moderate ocing...
 
No power power problems, but a noise problem for sure.

It seems that now the load on the PSU is causing the fan to run at high speed. It is much louder than it was before installing the chip.

I am going to buy a Phantom 500

Agreed. The Phantom's just gonna dump a lot of heat into your case so its gonna ramp up anyway. Get a seasonic - its quiet, efficient, and is most likely more reliable than the antec phantom.

I don't know about that PSU. I read mixed reviews on it. Then again what doesn't have mixed reviews.

I'll have to continue researching the whole game.

 
I shutdown my pc and started to open the case while it was shutting down. Installing a new hard drive. I noticed all fans were going still, except my rear case fan. I thought how could it be disconnected? Put my hand on it, it was hot! I knew the fan was running high, but I didn't think it was burning it up!!

I installed the HD and left the pc on its side, case open. It stayed cool.

Order a 120mm Yate Loon, popped it in, turned it on. Fan speeds are now back to normal. I can barely notice that my PC is on.

Not sure what caused those fans to go crazy(I think the PSU fan was crankin hard too, but it still works, fortunately!!!!!) . Glad it stopped though!
