Want to up grade mobo/proc, win7 OEM

Oyeve

So, the system in my sig is a bit outdated. I want to get an i7 and a new mobo and memory but keep everything else. I have done many inplace upgrades with winxp in the past and have been 95% successful. My version of win7 is home premium 64bit OEM. So, my questions are:

1. If I do upgrade mobo/proc/memory what are the chances that I can just put in my HDs and have win7 work after it boots up?

2. if it doesnt work, I cant just reinstall my OEM win7 disc, right? I was under the impression that OEM was basically a one shot install and that I couldnt call MS to deauthorize/authorize.

OEM versions of Windows cannot be moved to a different system (which is basically defined by motherboard). it can be reinstalled on same system.

That might work, but it would depend on the make of the OEM computer and what you want to move it to.

Then you technically qualify for moving it to a replacement. However you'll probably have to call MS to get it activated.

I have seen some dell's copies of win which will only post to a dell bios.
