I bought a Geforce 2 GTS 32mg a year ago and am looking to upgrade. Is it smart just to go to an ultra 64mg card or is that a waste of money? There are so many cards out I have no clue what to look for. Are the Geforce MX400 cards better then a ultra?

Is the geforce 3 32mg card much beter then my GTS 32mg or should I go for a 64mg card.

Thanks for the help.

In my opinion is depends on how much cash you have to lay down on it, but what doesn't. The GF2 ultra is a damn fine card, but someone correct me if I'm wrong, but is not too far down the ladder in price from a good "original" geforce3. I hear the ultra will still beat out the geforce3 ti 200 in benchmarks, and is right around the same price.

As for the MX cards, they are at the bottom of the pile.

A may have confused the issue, but that my two cents. :)

listen whatever you do... dont buy a Geforce 2 MX400. They really, really stink. I ahve one my self. Look
the Radeon 7500 ($140) or the Geforce 3 ti200 ($175) or the radeon 8500 (199 OEM, 249 Retail). I have
read alot aobut all these cards, and first try to get the R8500, if you cant then the Geforce 3 ti200, and if
you cant then the R7500. I would choose the R8500 because its got better features for better graphics
and stuff. In my opinion its better than the Gf3 Ti500. And order from Mwave
they are awesome!

I currently have a geforce2 gts 32 mb like you and just ordered the gainward g3ti200 from newegg for $170. I think it's the way to go because it's cheap and from the benchmarks i've seen it only trails the ti 500 by ~10-20 fps which for me isn't a very big difference. Hope that helps.

Ive been pondering the same question for the last two weeks. I am looking at the Leadtek Gf3 Ti200 vs Ti500. I am leaning towards the Ti500 because I wont be wanting to upgrade in four months.

it all depends on what kinda deals you can find, it also depends on the games you play and other tasks you perform, plus the system your putting the card in (cpu power mainly).
but for the most part if you have a geforce2 gts now, the only worth while upgrade is the geforce3 ti200 or a radeon 8500. the original geforce3 or the gf3 ti 500 is ok too. depending on the deal.
forget the geforce2 ultra etc unless you can get one very cheap

A GF3 Ti200 will be a good upgrade but try to get a GF3 or a GF3 Ti500 if you can afford it.

hear the ultra will still beat out the geforce3 ti 200 in benchmarks

The GF3 Ti200 will cane a GF2 Ultra.

I was looking to spend 100-125 but if I can only get a marginal output for my money I might just get a new Audigy gamer sound card instead. My GTS is still plenty fast as all I play is CS and I can get 90+ fps but my Diamond MX300 sound card is the nly thing I have never up graded yet so maybe my money would be better spent on that if it looks like I'll need to shell out 150+ to see a significant gain. :(

Thanks for the help.
