Hey guys, how is Cingular in Chicago? I was going to go for sprint but have not decided on Cingular family plan $180 for 3,000 & 4 phones. I check out cingular.com & fonecentral.com any othes I should look at before I order? I know most of them offer different phones at different prices.

Amazon & letstalk.com tend to have the best deals

EDIT - amazon blows for family plans unless you go w/ T-Mobile; letstalk.com has much better deals on family plans w/ cingular, you can get v551's free after rebate w/ a 2-year contract

It might be easiest to go to the Cingular store in person. I've never used one of the third party cell phone sellers.

Edit: Forgot about people like Amazon. I guess you can find a better deal than the brick and mortar stores offer from someone reputable.

Speaking of Cingular, I need to swap my busted-ass V400 for a Nokia 6230. I was going to go with the V551, as I like Motorolas, but the Nokia just seems like the better phone.

In my experience, you'll get the best deal by going to a local cell phone store. No, not the local Cingular store, but the mom and pop places. I usually head down to chinatown. Not only will you get a free phone with cash back with 1-year service (usually after mail-in rebate or from the store after 6-months of use), you can get your phone unlocked. The unlocked phone can then be used internationally or when you switch to Tmobile (since ATT is now Cingular, that's no longer an option), which will save you more $$ later on.

EDIT: In addition, Cingular service in NYC is decent, but I HATE their customer service. They are closed on Sundays and have 30 minute wait times. Also, they charge you one month's bill in advance, so when you cancel Cingular, you have to remember that you already paid for the upcoming billing cycle.
