Want to setup wireless network

K... wireless newbie here... please be kind. 🙂

I'm looking at getting a Linksys WRT54GS router, but I have a couple of questions for those of you that might know.

- The router will be on the ground floor in the back of the house. I want to setup "shop" in the basement in the front of the house (freeing up the office for my wife)... Does this seem reasonable, or will being in the basement throw it all off?

- In the "shop" I would like multiple connections, so, instead of getting several wireless cards or USB connections, can I add another wireless router that has 4 (or more) ports?

- Can you recommend a site the explains wireless security well enough for a newbie?

I say running cable is not practicle because of the plaster walls and all of the cross braceing we found between the studs when attempting to do some electrical work.

Thanks for your help.

Does this seem reasonable, or will being in the basement throw it all off? Sounds like the office is on the first floor, that would work great.
