So as many of you probably noticed from the hughe thread in OT Canada is getting screwed with internet caps. My current ISP is unlimited but i will be out of contract in a year and want to plan for when i need to limit my useage. I already talked with my current ISP and they have switched all there plans already to plans with caps so after my year im screwed. I current use 100-300GB a month which is 4-12 times what the caps on the lower end/price plans are(which is what im paying now, second lowest plan but with no limit). Im not going to switch to a high price plan unless i HAVE to as this is BS.
Im already running a home server with ubuntu server to handle all my file/print sharing as well as traffic shaping(QOS) and firewall/security. I will add a caching proxy to this machine as its installed as a transparent firewall so it is in the ideal location on my network to be a proxy server.
So im looking for suggestions on caching proxy programs, must run on ubuntu. Thanks for any input.
