want to overclock

Modeps

Lifer
ok, ive got a tb-950.
is there a way to get it up around 1.1ghz w/o having to mess with the chip itself? ive never o/cd anything before...

in yer bios, go into the SoftMenu III option, and change change the multipier to 11x. if when u boot, it says "AMD Athlon 1100 (100x11)", then u'll have 1.1gig, otherwise, if it says "...950 (100x9.5) u'll need to unlock ur chip, which means connecting the L1 bridges with a pencil or something else that is conductive.

good luck m8

that sounds pretty easy, but id rather not touch the chip physically, so if that doesnt work, i'll just have to live with 950 😉

should i be able to get that processor up to 1.1 without any problems?
my HSF (taisol) is supposedly rated for 1.2 and i have the tornado 1000 case from 3dcool.com

you may/will have to up the core voltage to obtain that speed. the maximum recommended around here is 1.85V

Without unlocking it. Chances are it won't hit 1.1GhZ. Messing with FSB alone is notlikely if you wanna 1.1Ghz. You'll get better chances by conencting the L1 bridges and changing the multiplier to 11X
