I got a Pentium 4 2.2GHz Northwood 400FSB and i got a Abit TH7II-Raid mobo. When i increase my speed it doesn't go up. I saw a site changed multiplier, and voltage and it was going up. But how do i set it in the bios to go up without wrecking it. I just want to over clock to 2.4GHz. I got good cooling (AVC Sunflower). i average around 37-38C in temp. How can i get it to run at 2.4GHz and will this wreck my chip??

Thanks

you can't change you multiplier on an intel chip...just change the FSB...if it is unstable...then up your vcore by a notch

leave it at 1.5v and if you get crashes then up your vcore by a notch in bios until you get stablity

leave it at default until it wont turn on anymore. the lower the voltage = better.

if you dont get at least 120fsb you are probably underclocking your devices, which is also bad. i dont know anything about that mobo so maybewhat i just said was really stupid, but make sure you keep the PCI/AGP bus speeds around 33/66 mhz, respectively.

Your multiplier on that CPU is 22. So, if you have your front side bus (FSB) at 100 that would look like this.... 22 x 100 = 2200. Thats 2.2GHZ Ok as they said, Intel cant unlock the multiplier so we intel guru's have to up the speed by increasing the FSB. Up the FSB in stages. Leave the vcore alone until you see errors or instablity, then up the vcore. The more voltage you increase, the more heat is involved and eventually this increases the chances of a premature death to the CPU. Get your calculator out and try some changes to the FSB in stages. 22 x 110 = 2420 and thats where you said you would like to be. I don't think you will encounter any problems. You have a pretty good board there and besides, you also have Intel! ;) G'Luck
