Will I need to reinstall Windows? everything else in the system will stay the same. Upgrading from a 3000+

And is there anything else i need to know before doing the transition... I already flashed by DFI BIOS to the 6.23

When I upgraded from a 3000+ to a 3800+, I simply booted Windows and it discovered "new hardware," namely an ACPI Multiprocessor PC, then finished by saying the new hardware was installed but might not work until I rebooted. Reboot --> done.

Yeah, make sure your bios supports teh X2, & then when it's installed, install that X2 driver.

Well, i did as you are about to.

I had a Venice 3200+ before.

I updated bios to the latest one & then when i got my X2, i installed the X2 driver, & i've had no issues.
