Hi all! I'm a DJ/mod of the site labradio.co.uk (check it out if you're a metal head) and really want to give the review part of the site an overhaul. Right now it's just forum posts.
What I want to do is be able to have a dedicated review site where folks can put their own reviews in and rate an album on a scale of 5 or 10 or something. Then I would like all the reviews searchable by artist and/or album, and maybe by who submitted them.
Also it would be great to have some sort of rating filter, like a 'view all albums rated 8 or above' type thing. And possibly a filter to display the ratings in descending order, similar to how the forums are set up. If you click on the 'replies' button you can have the forums organized by ascending or descending order, which is what I want with my cd ratings.
All I know is basic HTML, which doesn't help at all except for how it looks. What would I need to look into to make all this possible? I would assume some sort of database but I'm not sure how those work. So if somebody could point me in the right direction so I can go try figuring stuff out on my own that'd be awesome.
