Okay, maybe I was too quick to bite his head off.
But it's a pet peeve of mine. People go to design school without any artistic talent and think they can become top-of-the-line designers (not just web). It doesn't work that way, you need to KNOW what looks nice. That can't be taught, you have to have the eye for it. Sure, you can develop skills, but you need to have some artistic ability. My web stuff sucks, I know it, but that's because I don't put any time into it, just an hour at night here and there. I design books for a living at a NYC publishing house. I didn't mean to discourage the OP, by all means learn how to write HTML and PHP. Don't mind me.
