SAS is a Statistical Software Package. We used it in my class.

What class you taking that uses SAS.

SAS is a very good program to learn if you plan to do Statistical Analysis.

Yes, if only plan to do very simple task than SAS prob is too much, it is good for doing more complex things like Multivariate and Categorical Data Analysis, like Multivariate Regression, and Logistic Regression.

I can tell you from experience that learning SAS isn't easy.

But that probably wasn't what you were talking about.

Wow that is still around? I used to use that when I first started out on mainframes running IBM OS/MVS. If it is the same thing it was pretty easy to pick up just by using the manuals and working with it.

We have a Unix version at work and they are trying to purchase the Windows version.

yea, I fail at english. graduate level economics doesn't require that.

I am a stat minor (completed) and when we did SAS, all we had was the professors huge packets he would give us. This guy was like a caveman and was very old school. I would recommend a book, but we all looked and couldnt find jack. Sorry
