Did a similar thing back in the day with the Dr Pepper / Spiderman stuff. You could only do it with the diet dr pepper (white label) to win free stuff.

yeah, wouldnt make a difference to pepsi.. might mean that a few more people cash in, but i doubt that most people will tilt. i sure as hell am tonight when i go to the store.

except that still means paying the $1.whatever for the pepsi to get my $1 song, when i can get it for ... less. and drink my 2 liter pepsi bottle for $.85, or just plain water ;)

Exactly. Not as good as the original which isn't as good as the CD, yet you're playing around the same price if you were to get the whole CD.

Exactly. Not as good as the original which isn't as good as the CD, yet you're playing around the same price if you were to get the whole CD.

Even though the DRM would be (relatively) easy to circumvent, I still wouldn't bother downloading music encoded at such a pathetic bit rate.
