Where can I get this info in print so as to protect myself. And, what "warnings" am I possibly responsible for?

To me, they aren't that risque but I want to be sure before I hear a knock on my door and find a uniform standing there in front of me.

Anyone?

While you do have a legitimate question, we do have too many young people on the forums.

And it seems there are quite a few members asking for a preview.

if they are you, and are tasteful , and not in abundance, and you are cute, not a hookah, and nobody complains :) no problem.

I manage hundreds of thousands of personal websites, and thats just my opinion.

But if your generating a ton of traffic, or you have some pretty hardcore stuff, then i'll axe it.

Yes to all of the above...except the hookah part. But, where can I see this in writing?

Call me paranoid but hey, chit happens to me.

Sorry, but mods don't define porn. If you are going to put up pics and YOU question them, since they are of you, should decide if they are porn. Make an informed decision.

On this forum we do define pron.

por-nog-ra-phy writing about prostitutes; writings, pictures, etc intended primarily to arouse sexual desire. production of such writings, pictures, etc.

I have pictures of my genital piercings I wanted to post on my web page but I didnt because I would think most people would consider it porn in nature

"WARNINGS"
put a acceptance statement on the index page, This page contains images of an adult nature, if these kinds of images are illegal in your area please exit now. If you are under 18 please exit now. BUTTON's I agree(enter), I disagree (exit); That kind of thing

AT Definition of Porn:

ANY nudity including "See through" clothing

No:
genitalia
breasts
pubic hair
sexual acts
Bare buttocks

Anything you would not want YOUR children to see

Porn is actually impossible to define in the legal sense. Porn is in the eye of the beholder you could say ;) If its clearly meant to invoke sexual feelings, its porn. If not its art. Only you can say if its meant to invoke sexual feeling though.

edit: so out of curiosity mods do thongs count as bare butts? I mean they are bare for all practical purposes but its quite a fashion at some beaches that many people have no problems with their kids seeing....

That's a tough one
As long as the brown eye is not visible ;)

Check with the web host as to what they will allow and not allow. Thats probably the best thing to do. There are hosts that cater to that kind of thing. ;)

Soybomob is right. The last ruling by the USSC was that they couldnt define pron, but they knew it when they saw it. Of course, on AT, the Mod.s are the UUSC and they have just spoken...

I have taken tons of pictures of nude women, that I can only define as art, not pornography. However I doubt I could post them up on here seeing that they are completely nude. ;)

Well, I would certainly say that they would be classified as suggestive but, if I had to classify them as anything, I would say, "soft porn" or maybe "pin-up" type shots. They are not trashy by my own standards but, my standards are pretty much less than the "general population."

In reference to sites that "host that sort of thing," can you give me some names so as to cover myself.

Also, I will go check my current hosts terms, etc. and see what guidelines are listed. But, again, I think the definition of porn is vague, to say the least.

Comment to NoreCNN: No, not the same as "Pretender." I noticed that name the other day and wonder now if I should change mine. Hate to though.

Also, if interested...my pic is in the Gallery.

Well I do some adult themed hosting, and the laws on porn are very vague, I will say this 99.9% of the webhosting companies out there will not allow any nudity, female breasts or genitalia or male genitalia. All advice given about porn anywhere on the internet is just suggestions or advice, except for child pornography which obviously carries stiff penalties, as far as having pornographic material on your personal pc that is governed by local laws. All this being said, I would just put a huge warning page as the home page, and if you wanted to take it to an extreme go get yourself an ESRB rating.
